B.O.A.T.T. STORY

We provide resources and items to people dealing with homelessness and financial hardships.

In 2012 Blessing Others All The Time (B.O.A.T.T.) was founded on the belief that we should help those less fortunate than us. Our team connects directly with people experiencing financial hardships or homelessness in the Northeast Florida area. We provide school supplies for children, personal care items for the homeless, and other resources for the under-served community.

The mission of Blessing Others All The Time is to serve others with love by providing to the Homeless, Veterans, Seniors, Students, and Underserved communities. We want to be the resources they need for their daily walks of life. Based upon the scriptures in Luke 6:38, which tells us that if we give, it will be given back to us, and Galatians 5:13, which tells us that we should serve one another in LOVE.

Our vision is to one day acquire a building so that volunteers would have a permanent location to meet, strategically plan activities, and assemble bags to help further our mission. In addition, we will use the funding to run a mobile station with showers, washers, and dryers for the homeless.

Founder and CEO

Sheila Brown-Jefferson

Sheila is the proud daughter of George and Emma Toomer. She grew up in Fort Pierce, FL attending St. Lucie County school system for elementary and middle school and then moving to Jacksonville, FL attending Duval County school system. She received her Bachelor degree in 2005 from University of Phoenix.

Sheila has a passion for helping those who are experiencing homelessness and under-served (which she realized over 30 years ago). As a compassionate citizen of Duval County, Sheila observed that there are numerous people in Duval and surrounding counties who are living on the streets with no permanent place to call their own.

Sheila felt that God was calling her to action. Sheila appealed to God saying over and over, “I know I can’t assist them all but my prayer is for you to use me to make a difference in the lives of those that I come into contact with. Letting them know that there are Godly people in this world who care about them and their well- being.”

In 2012, God led Sheila to step out on faith believing on the word which says, “I can do all things through Christ because He gives me strength” (Phil 4:13 NCV). She started her own 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Blessing Others All the Time (B.O.A.T.T.) which stands on the scriptures Luke 6:38 and Galatians 5:13 which tells us to give and it shall be given to us and serving one another in love. Blessing Others All the Time (B.O.A.T.T.) depends on volunteers along with contributions from public and private donors. By working together, we can carry out the word of God throughout His land!  Sheila gives all glory, honor and praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing her to use her time, talent, treasure and testimony to bless others. February 2013 Sheila was blessed to work in her passion. She is currently working at Clara White Mission where she is now able to help more than she could ever imagine. She works with those who are experiencing homelessness, ex-offenders, veterans and low-income clients every day. She works with the clients to make sure that they are getting the skills they need to get back into the workforce. She thanks God for allowing her this opportunity to do what she loves and fulfilling the purpose in which HE has planned for us to do. Sheila continues to volunteer with AARP and other organizations doing what she loves, which is giving back to the community. She is forever grateful for all the things that God is doing in her life as she continues to give back.

Sheila completed the Nonprofit Executive Program with The Jim Moran Institute For Global Entrepreneurship in October 2020. During the pandemic Sheila used her time to become a Master Life Coach and Certified Master Practitioner in Financial Capability (CMPFinCap). Sheila also became a Licensed Insurance Agent and How Money Works Financial Educator.
