Sheila Brown-Jefferson
Founder & Executive Director

Sheila Brown-Jefferson

I started BOATT in 2012 with a mission of serving others experiencing homelessness and the underserved community. I started carrying personal hygiene items with me on my daily walks and distributing them to those sleeping outside. The following year, the Lord laid it on my heart to start BOATT formally. I could not be where I am today without God and the team that works with me. He has blessed us to do much more in 2025.

"I believe that it is more blessed to give than to receive [Acts 20:35 KJV], we should use hospitality one to another without grudging [1 Peter 4:9 KJV] — and to whom much is given, much is required. Joining the mission of BOATT directly aligns with my beliefs."
